We did a K1 and now we are both US Citizens, we sponsored Russian Mom to come here and it's approved (she will interview in Poland).  What kind of interview can we expect?  Her English is basic at best, she has visited for 6 months at a time.

IR5 interviews are pretty basic.. who petitioned for you .. where does the petitioner live.. what job do they do .. grandchildren..  howl long has your son/daughter lived in the US.. pretty conversational

Don’t most consulates offer translators? You can tell them in advance you may need one.

They do not.   They generally accommodate interviews in a person’s native language or the language of the consulate location though.

Ahhh Sierra Leone must be different.

sister in law had a translator even though she did not request one. She thought her English was perfect but the consul did not think so 😂

Another question - it says Remember: You MUST bring all of your original documents to your interview at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate so that a consular officer can compare them to the submitted electronic documents. If you do not bring the originals, you will delay processing of your application.

But the interview is with our foreign Grandma - Not the petitioner, are we to mail original birth certificate, marriage certificate, that she brings it?  Seems weird.

Wifey and I are sponsoring Russian Mom for green card, everything approved and now we have interview in Warsaw, Poland (Russian embassy is closed).  They say to bring original documents, but do they mean only the beneficiary original or petitioner too?  Are we going to have to fedex our original marriage certificate, which is anyway a certified copy?  Or she can just print it?

You MUST bring all of your original documents (not a photocopy) to your interview at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

It is specifically referring to  the documents uploaded to NVC but wisdom says take originals from the I130 stage too just in case ..

Any document you submitted when applying, she will have to take the originals, also send her original copies of sponsor’s W2s, original certificates and make sure police records are not expired.

Does anyone actually send out original W-2s these days?  I remember getting carbon copies many years ago, but I have been printing them online for years.

For Me at the Kyiv embassy they specifically wanted My Wife’s original W2s, luckily she sent them via DHL before my interview.

My wife became a US Citizen last year and sponsored her mom for a Visa, it was approved -  we are now at ds 260 / interview stage.  Who is the petitioner?  I'm assuming my wife is?  Or is it the mother in law - because she is petitioning the government for the visa?  It's a little confusing.
