Inteview without my hubby ( US Citizen )

Well I know its kinda soon to ask this cause I just received our first NOA 's today .

My question is the following :

My hubby is a US soldier and left for a 15 month tour to Iraq in May .

What should I do whit the interview. I have a general power of attorney but the first time I called for that I was told that that would be good enough but the second time I called was said that my husband needed me to fill out and sign a form ( dont remember wich one ) because the power of attorney wouldnt be enough.

Im confused now !

I think that for military couples this is not that much of a problem. If you have a copy of his orders and postings, you can in fact go to the interview on your own or maybe take a member of his family with you????

To clarify what you will need you might want to make an infopass and explain your situation to a officer but I have read of cases where military wives/husbands have been posted overseas and the immigrant partner has gone to the interview on their own with no detremental effect to their case. As long as you have all his orders etc you should be ok.

There have been a few military couples on VJ, hopefully they will see this and respond.

I guess I could ask his mom to fly over here to assist me cause just thinking abou the interview makes me nervous !

But I'll call uscis again next week and hopefully get a clear answer if she can come along !

Infopass is where you can make an appt online and then go down to your nearest immigration office to talk to an officer in person.... Its a crapshoot though, cause sometimes you get someone who knows what they are talking about and sometimes you dont..

I have been reading up on other posts on couples being in the military applying for AOS .

Its gotten me a little wiser now but in my case I guess it doesnt need to be expedited cause my hubby is already in Iraq .

But then again what if something happens to my hubby ( Hope that will never happen ) ?

Cause A couple of days ago my hubby's convoi got attacked and 2 of his fellow soldiers got killed and 3 wounded and it could have been my husband cause he was right there when it happend .

Should I go ahead and ask about getting the case expedited ?
