hello,

So, I have recieved a RFE for the long-form canadian birth certificate. as per the USCIS website, it states that they "accept" both a long-form birth certificate with parental information and a birth registration.

I reached out to service ontario and they advised me to request a birth registration document because it would arrive within a few days instead of 3-4 weeks for the birth certificate.

They did send the birth registration and i just want to see if anyone had any luck in sending this document and if it got accepeted by USCIS. i have attached a photo of a similar document to the one i recieved.

We did apply for the long-form birth certificate with parental information as well, but it will take almost a month to recieve. just want to know if we can send this document instead.

It is an Ontario birth registration document.

I am reaching out to immigration lawyers about this. just thought to post this here as well.

thank you for your help, much appreciated!

If RFE deadline allows, submit exactly what USCIS are asking for. This way you would minimize any friction.

Note that USCIS let’s one add 60 days to RFE deadlines.  https://www.uscis.gov/newsroom/alerts/uscis-extends-covid-19-related-flexibilities-0

So no reason to not get what the RFE asks for.
