What's this I randomly read once in a while that the Mexico consulate doesn't demand a I-134 affidavit of support for the K-1 visa? Anybody know about this?

As far as I know they don't require it. I-134 is used by most embassies and consulates, but not all. You will have to fill out the I-864 later during AOS.

Mexico doesn't require it, but you CAN use it. If you choose to use it, it needs to be notarized. If you choose not to use it, just include the necessary financial papers.

Take a look at the fiance packet on the CDJ website. They don't require the actual form - but they still require all of the financial support evidence. Therefore people use it because it makes things a bit easier.

Make sure to check out the Ciudad Juarez thread when you get to the consulate stage. It has lots of useful info.

The I-134 is not a required form for K visas but it seems to be the easiest way to provide evidence to satisfy the Consular Officer the intending immigrant won't become a public charge. They are entitled to ask for any evidence they think is necessary to satisfy that concern, regardless of what any website including their own, might state is "required". The real requirement is "satisfaction".
