hi there,

My brother who is us citizen , 3 month ago his wife died which were also us citizen , he also has a kid with her , also both of my parents are U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents and i am 30 year old unmarried lives in karachi, pakistan. I want to go to US to support my brother in these harsh times .

 

which is the fastest way to reach to him . Do i have to go through immigration route or can be done in tourist visa, and if yes then what kind of visa. 

i dont have intent to stay there long as i know its illegal to stay there on tourist visa .........i just want to reach to him and sort out few things there

B-2 visa if you just want to visa. 

But if you want to migrate to the US permanently your parents can petition you by filing I-130.

Tourist visa would be it. However , if wife died 3 months ago and you missed the funeral it may be hard convincing a consular office of the need to travel. However I do understand your concern for your brother, sorry for the loss of your family.

So sorry for your loss. 

If you don't plan on staying, then a B2 visitor visa showing strong ties to Pakistan. Which can be tricky in your situation. 

FROM F1 TO AOS

October 17, 2019 AOS receipt date 

December 09, 2019: Biometric appointment

January 15, 2020 RFE received

January 30, 2020  RFE response sent

Feb 7: EAD approved and interview scheduled

March 18, 2020 Interview cancelled

April 14th 2020: RFE received

April 29, 2020 Approved without interview

May 1, 2020 Card in hand

 

REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS

February 1, 2022 package sent

March 28, 2022 Fingerprints reused

July 18, 2023 approval

July 20, 2023 Card in hand

 

N400 

January 30,2023: Online filing

February 4th, 2023: Biometric appointment

June 15th, 2023: Case actively being reviewed

July 11th, 2023: Interview scheduled.

August 30th, 2023: Interview!

August 31st, 2023: Oath ceremony scheduled.

Sept 19th, 2023: Officially a US citizen!

I think they call it an Emergency Appointment and there is no suggestion of an emergency.

wait times for  a tourist visa are 378 days 

 

Strong home ties are needed to be approved 

own property

job

money to finance the trip and stay

 

I suggest online daily chats with your brother to help him

it may help for him to make a trip home  ( to get away and morn his loss) so u could help pay his airfare and he could be with u

parents are here so he has family support 

 

so very sorry for your loss
