When I filed my I 130 I logged in to my USCIS account and it said  processing time 10 months at the Potomac Service Center. . 4 months later it says Estimated time until case decision 7 months. Is it 7 more months or 7 months from date of filing?

It actually says "Estimated time* until case decision:"

That means from today, imo.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Those estimates are pretty useless.  Example:  My wife was just scheduled for her citizenship interview for Dec 14th, 2022.  On November 8th, the estimate was 6 months.  On November 9th (the day USCIS sent the "interview was scheduled" notice, the estimate changed to 9 months.   It makes no sense.  We filed her N-400 on Aug 7th, 2022.

Thanks for this info. I have actually been wondering about the validity of those estimated times they provide within your case

The estimate when I filed the I-130 was 12 months at Potomac (05 September 2021) and remained so until I was approved on the 16th of October 2022. It's just a guideline. 3 months after the estimated timeline you can inquire about it via the USCIS portal. After the 12 month mark, my wife reached out to her congressional office and that helped due to them providing us with updates we could not previously get, such as informing us a few days before approval that our case was assigned to an adjudicating officer.
