When I woke up, scrolled through TikTok, and read the post-debate polls, I found headline after headline declaring voters' choice for president unmoved.  It made no difference whatsoever, and, if anything, sympathy tipped in Trump's direction, and Harris suddenly became as unlikable or "likable enough" as Hillary Clinton.

Kamala's First Solo Interview Was a Total Train Wreck

 

On Friday, Kamala Harris finally gave her first solo interview since Joe Biden was forced out of the presidential race.  It's hard to believe it took her nearly two months finally do an interview on her own.

And yet, the interview proved exactly why she hasn't.

Taking a page out of Barack Obama's playbook, Kamala didn't do an interview with a major news network, but with an ABC News affiliate in Philadelphia.  Barack Obama employed this strategy in order to have more leverage over the terms of the interview, and it seems the Obama people who have joined her campaign have advised her to do the same.

So, obviously, you know that she was given a bunch of softball questions from reporter Brian Taft, and yet the short interview was a complete trainwreck.  [...]

We've all seen, or at least seen portions of, Vice President and current Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris' utter train wreck of a (scripted, pre-recorded, carefully planned, and still she screwed it up) interview with Philadelphia's 6 ABC anchor Brian Taff.  To call this a disaster was an unforgivable understatement; not even a carefully planned pre-recorded interview format could produce a win for the Queen of the Word Salad.  What.  A.  Mess.

BREAKING:  Pennsylvania Court Ruling a Massive Election Integrity Win on Mail-In Ballots

 

Remember during the 2020 elections, when several blue states (including the commonwealth of Pennsylvania) rewrote on the fly the laws about how, when, and where mail-in ballots (AKA vote by mail) would be counted?  It led to many voters becoming jaded and distrustful of a system that had been considered one of the most honest and free to hold elections in the world.

The Debate at the Kitchen Table
 

ABC staged a debate this week.  A presidential debate.  Ostensibly between former president Donald J. Trump and former senator Kamala Harris, but in actuality between Trump and the partnership of Harris and ABC.

 

There is always media bias.  To some extent, unconscious media bias is unavoidable.  But we don't expect it to be blatant; the viewer doesn't expect antics like we saw this week, when the ABC moderators repeatedly declared Mr. Trump's statements lies, and never called out Ms. Harris's blatant lies.

We call it "fact-checking" today, a term coined in social media for when our high-tech overlords punish a writer for stating something with which the gurus disagree.  But it's not really fact-checking, is it?  It's an invasion of a conversation, a denial of free speech, a thumb on the scale.  In the case of a presidential debate, it's electioneering.

 

And it virtually invalidates the value of our constitutionally protected free press in this process.  ABC's refusal even to try to act as an impartial host rendered this debate useless.

So let's look instead at the other debates — millions of them — going on in America, both that day and every day in 2024.  [...]
