Help for CRBA Authentications

Hi everyone,

 

My son is a US citizen born abroad and he has his CRBA already. I am looking to authenticate his birth certificate but all I see is the CRBA beeing apostille. 

Can anyone help me to find out how to authenticate his CRBA ? He is in the States now

Who is telling you his CRBA needs to be authenticated?

 

What are you trying to accomplish?

 

A CRBA is gold standard evidence of U.S. citizenship and arguably superior to a U.S. birth certificate.

Thanks for your response, we are trying to go to a Non Hague convention country and one of the requirement is to authenticate the birth certificate in his case the CRBA

I'm late to respond to this, but hope tbe OP will see it.  Are you sure it is the CRBA they want authenticated? A CRBA is not a birth certificate; rather, it is a citizenship document that proves the individual was a US citizen from birth.  The birth certificate would be what was issued by the country where the child was born.  It has information on it it that will not be on the CRBA.

Here to ask a similar question - does anyone know if we can make certified copies of the CRBA? So when baby needs to go to the DMV or apply for a passport again in the future, they don't need to provide the original CRBA?

The dmv should be happy with a passport card. 
 

Passports and passport cards can be renewed with expired passports and passport cards. Worst case pay a $150 file search fee.

Thanks for this - I've seen the page you shared but the fact that it says order a replacement of the CRBA threw me off. Does that suggest it was lost or you can just order a replacement to have an additional copy?
