Rejected again this morning after 4 weeks of waiting, I don’t know what I am doing wrong? I am a licensed pharmacist in the UK, I have given my initial exams here to obtain my license, I have a valid offer of employment with the largest pharmacy chain as a Pharmacy Tech, I have not been working since January 2022, we have bills to pay as anyone else - why do I not qualify for an expedite? 98 days since application, 69 days since biometrics, how many more requests?!?!!!!!

That sucks so much, it really is a lottery as to whether you get your expedite approved. 😕

Update about my SSN: I received my EAD and after waiting way more than 45 days the SSN never arrived on the mail 🤪 so I just went to my local Social Security Office, showed them my EAD and passport and they issued a SSN for me. They said I’ll receive it within 2 weeks.

So, if you received the EAD and after 45 days there’s no sign of SSN card just go to your closest Social Security Office (call first cause some of them just work with appointments).

I had my biometrics appointment today. I managed to get in 6 days early! They were really quiet and kind about it to be honest... It was in Riverside (La Sierra Avenue).

But... I've received a I-485 Request for Evidence today too (RFE) - it's a request for the Form I-864 to be resubmitted. We didn't include W2's so maybe that was the issue.

I have question that I hope someone can help with... Will the I-485 RFE delay my EAD/I-765 card being sent to me?

Form I-864 Also needs to be submitted with I-485 form . Also, when submitting all three forms 765 and 131 do they become free? And do you include the biometric fee up front with the 485 ?

Update: I sent my medical exam (I-693) RFE on 02/24 to USCIS. 03/10 - my case was updated and indicated it was received. 03/11 - case was approved!

I got the NOA in the mail today. Just waiting to receive the physical green card now.

Total time was about 4 months from submission to approval. Safe to say I'm pleasantly surprised by how quickly this all went for me. Hoping everyone else gets good news sooner than later. My friend's husband submitted his AOS a while back and it got approved last month, 14 months later. However, his interview was waived.

Hey! I may have missed it, but did they tell you what was missing in your medical RFE?

I never sent in my medical in the package so it was just the entire medical I693 itself. My lawyer said they left it out on purpose because if the process takes too long, I may have to do another medical exam so they just waited for USCIS to send the RFE instead.

That makes sense. Thanks for clarifying!

Received an email this morning with the subject "USCIS Courtesy Letter Request" from DET-I693@uscis.dhs.gov.

Quote

An initial review of the evidence submitted for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, determined that the evidence submitted was deficient for the following reasons.

  • A completed and signed I-693 was not submitted

If you already submitted a I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record or if you are a K-1 VISA holder, please disregard this notice, no further action is needed.

I presume this means my case has been transferred to the Detroit field office? Don't have any new documents on the USCIS website so I don't think they have actually sent me an RFE.

Just to spoke to Emma on the live chat:

I can see that your case is still within the normal processing times. I can also see that your case is processing at the Detroit Field Office where an immigration officer was looking at your case on 0 3 / 2 3 / 2 0 2 3

🤞

I woke up this morning to a message that the USCIS have taken action on my case since my biometrics.

It's now saying as of today they are working on my case. Anyone see something similar before they got an update? Either a medical or otherwise?

Anything in the Documents tab on the USCIS site?
