Did you handwrite your signature??? Can't you download the existing document and see if you hand signed the signature?

No it wasn't handwritten that was the reason.

I'm actually on vacation right now lol. time to find a printer and scanner.

I hope typing the date is ok. Even the instructions are vague...it simply says sign and date the form and that typewritten or stamped signature will not be accepted. It doesn't mention anything about the date other than "sign and date".

According to this,https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/visas-news-archive/20161228_ink-signature-no-longer-required-on-affidavits-of-support.html

Only the signature must be typewritten...so why are they issuing RFE's?

From my understanding you HAVE to hand sign the document and write the date. Anything else will issue you an RFE. You can fill out the entire form electronically but you HAVE to physically sign and date the form

Finally got to see the message on the ceac site from December 19.

Please sign and date this by hand in Part 8, Lines 6.a. and 6.b., and replace this form with a new Form I-864 by visiting https://www.uscis.gov/i-864.

This sucks I'm 100% sure I signed it.

I used a pdf filler so it was probably that.

Time to wait some more

Exact same message I got.

The signature was entered by hand and the date was typed just like all other boxes.

Nowhere does it say the date should be handwritten, on top of that why did they assume the signature wasn't handwritten.

Absolute jokes. Submitted on 11 Nov and I bet these idiots will invent a new problem next time.

As Devsur pointed out above and on the I864 itself it absolutely does not have to be handwritten. Many others, I would imagine most people who know how to use a computer would have filled in the date on the PDF.

This is just the NVC being officious.

Unfortunately for me, we used a lawyer and that lawyer is on leave for another 2 weeks and we cannot resubmit the -864 without their signature!

I know. I’m just stating that I have seen people get RFE because like you said the NVC likes to knit pick about what they want to accept and what they don’t. And for some odd reason they won’t accept a digital date. (Which in my opinion is ridiculous) I had seen where people stated they had got RFE before for this so that’s why in my case I hand signed and wrote the date.

Tracker recalculated based on the new date.. it is now 38 day backlog..  we hope to hear the next three or four DQs this week.

For Tracking purposes, you can add ours.  We submitted documents on 9th November, and as of last night, the CEAC is showing accepted, but no DQ email yet
