Mum to visit on tourist visa / pregnancy Q

Hi everyone,

I would like to ask a question as I am not sure about this.

So I just got pregnant and due to give birth around July.
Of course naturally, we all want our mums to be with us just before giving birth, during birth, and helping out for a bit after giving birth.

I wanted to ask as my mum has not visited the US before.
She has retired a long time ago, and my brother and I are now supporting her financially. She pays rent through her name, but of course, we support her financially.
If I'm not mistaken, most post-pregnancy will require about a month's help, and this is the first grandchild of her family so of course she should be part of it.

When applying for a tourist visa, would it be ok for her to show that she's paying rent, and that my husband and I sponsor her stay here?
Of course we will have a return ticket etc.

But it's just that financially, she does not have savings anymore, no assets. However, I can personally provide her about $5k to show that she has funds when she is here in the US, but again, my husband and I can also pay for things when she's here.

Would immigration be strict about that? I don't know what else to show other than pregnancy related things too.

Not sure if anyone has been in this situation...

Her situation is what it is, there is nothing you can do to tailor her case.

They are less concerned about why she wants to come, that is very rarely an issue, more that she will leave.

She fills in the DS160 and goes to the interview,

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

She can apply but to get the visa she has to proof strong ties to her country. Your sponsorship letter won't be used in the consulate's decision.
