We got a RFE and it stated that we needed additional documents including the original of my wedding certificate, they indicated that it looks fake and may be altered.

Nigeria is well known for fake documents and immigration will question any that look like they have been altered

look at the original yourself and check for anything that may be questionable

also ,  i  would ask spouse to send another that has country offical government stamp as u may need one for personal business in the future

some offices here such as state DMV want to see originals

First, USCIS is not saying what you say they are saying.  That's a boilerplate explanation for why they are asking for the original.  The photo you attached, does not show the whole document.  Perhaps that's the problem.  NOW, you must submit the original exactly as they instructed.  Perhaps the only problem is that your photocopy doesn't show the whole page.  I see both orange and red alterations on your attachment.  Which of those appeared on the copy you submitted?  I understand YOU obscuring information in orange, but if the red alterations are on your photocopy or original, it is not altered and will not be accepted.

None of the applied on the original, I was the one who covered the information with the red and orange alterations

I think the problem is this little mistake in the spelling of my father’s name which wasn’t even so obvious

You need to ask her to express mail it to you right away. There is a reason they want the original so you must give them the original.

Get a NEW ORIGINAL and whatever version of “ certified “ stamps are required. You mentioned you can obtain an attestation , add that too.
Also have the issuing authority of the first certificate ( one u sent copy to USCIS $ give you an affidavit/letter or attestation of the “ alteration “ in the father’s name spelling.

Sending only the original without issuing authority acknowledging the Very Obvious Alteration will result in denial

On a light note, they are saying it looks fake..and I agree with them. Hopefully OP did not try to correct the misspelling himself, post issuance

Actually, they just used a laundry list and are intentionally not specific about the actual issue. It's one or more of those things they mention that is concerning them.  It may well be the correction of the misspelling.  Otherwise, what looks fake to you?  What am I missing?
