No, the estimate is not for current applicants, it's a reflection of what has been completed to date.

In the 9 months of FYE 2022, USCIS has fallen behind half a month every month. In other words, someone who applies today is now facing 15 x 1.5 = 22.5 months of waiting.

December 31, 2021: 36K pending applications

March 31, 2022: 42K

June 30, 2022: 50K

A callout to everyone: if you haven't written to your Senator yet about this... you ought to.

I have not written to my Senator or know how to do so. Is there a guide/example that I can follow? Thank you.

Just seeing the current waiting times for K1, I think most people will probably do spousal if it does not improve, waiting so long for K1 does not make any sense anymore.

That's the thing - spousal also requires an I-129F (even if it's to be denied). I wager 1 in 3, 1 in 4 I-129Fs are spousal ones based on denied rate.

What do you mean, they file a K3 in order for it to go faster?

Are these ones into the global I-129f scan stats? That is an interesting question.

My estimate was based on the number of denied cases when taking into account how many are denied right off the bat, e.g., for wrong payment, versus ones denied almost right when they should have been approved. I have to assume the latter is due to spousal visas.

By the way, there's an updated estimate posted on YouTube for processing - check Nov. 5, 2022 Update: USCIS I-129F K1 Fiancé Visa Processing Wait Times Increasing - YouTube :

I just want to vent that the incompetence of our government is downright cruel and a real waste of people living happy lives that we don't get again.

So, write your senator. Make them listen.

One of your senators is fighting for their seat tomorrow. And so is your representative.

Don't tell us - we already agree with you by default.  [link edited out - see below]

I've already written to Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn and discussed with representatives from John Cornyn's office for 30 minutes over the phone.  Ted Cruz's response was more automated.  In my state, they are more concerned about ILLEGAL immigration at our border, and it's difficult to get them off of the topic.  Thanks.

At this rate how can they meet their goal of 6 months processing time by the end of 2023? Am I missing something?

They cannot
