I used the Immigrant Visa option and it went through. My status is "Ready".  I have not received anything from the US Embassy. This is the part where it can take 4-6 weeks?

You will now need to wait for the embassy to formally send you PKT-3, which will come by email.

There is, however, Bogota PKT-3 available online - so you can start gathering the documents that are required.

Good luck.

Hi,

Once your status changes to READY at https://ceac.state.gov, you can complete the DS-160, create your profile with your Embassy and pay the Visa fee.

Check this website for your country as to how to create the profile - someone posted it before - https://www.ustraveldocs.com/.

For Dominican Republic Embassy, I needed to complete the DS-160 before creating the profile.

Check the requirements for your Embassy.

Once I submitted the DS-160, created the profile and paid the fee, I sent an inquiry to the Embassy letting them know I did all that.

They said I will get an email reply once they review it so that I can go into the profile again and get access to the interview calendar.

I now have to wait for them to let me see the interview calendar to pick the date.

I paid on Dec 14th and still haven't heard anything so still waiting🙏🤞. This is where it can take a few weeks, at least for Dominican Republic, your Embassy might be faster.

Also apparently there is no PK3 for Dominican Republic Embassy. It's just a "Welcome" email that says the Embassy received the case. Once status said "Ready" I was able to create them profile and pay.

Hello,

In the instructions for the interview, it states, IMMIGRATION RECORDS: Applicants who have been denied admission to the United States, requested extensions, changed status, applied for asylum, been deported, or granted voluntary departure from the United States must bring all relevant documents from the Department of Homeland Security or the immigration judge.

My fiancee applied for a US Travel Visa, and she was denied. I believe she was denied because she said she wanted to visit the United States to meet her fiancee's family. As anyone who has gone through this and was denied, the US does not give any reason for the denial and just hands you a general piece of paper that shares why they might have been denied. There is no physical evidence of the denial. Of course, they have the records. Anything we should have with us? We do not have an interview date, just getting everything prepared.

Umm so we are also November 2022 filers and we haven't received our Noa2 yet. Are we still in the normal processing time and just need to be patient? Or should we panic and chase after uscis now??

You are still within the normal processing timeframes. You can only officially request case information by May of this year I believe, if not June. You can put your exact NOA1 date in the case tracker and see what the day is for you.

Some cases will be adjudicated earlier, some later than others. Usually luck of the draw.

I wrote my congressman with detailed information about what is going on with people not getting their cases seen at USCIS. The response from one of their workers:

"Thank you for contacting our office in regards to your immigration concerns. The documents you provided do not come from a .gov website and I would not hold any high hopes when interpreting information from those sources. To that end, all of the information you will receive from our office will either be from a .gov website or from the agency themselves.

Your case was received on November 7th, 2022. As of right now USCIS is processing I-129F’s, like yours, at the California Service Center within an estimated processing time of 15 months (February 7th, 2024). I have included USCIS’s expedite criteria below, if you feel as if you case meets one of the criteria below please attach documentation/evidence to a reply to this email in order to justify the criteria. What I would ultimately suggest doing is to contact our office around that February date and we can more suitable contact USCIS with a stronger argument to finish adjudicating the case. I will wait for your reply before closing anything on our end. Please advise.

If you have any questions please let me know."

🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 So "we may not believe you, but call us back next month if you still have the same issue"

According to the USCIS Case Inquiry Calculator, the earliest you can submit an official inquiry based on your NOA1 date is May 7, 2024. This correlates to the average case processing time or 16 months at the CSC

If you sent the processing timeline that is listed on your profile to your Congressmen, this indeed is an unofficial and incorrect source - you must follow USCIS timelines.

You can at anytime file an Expedite which cover a limited set of circumstances. Mine were denied twice.

USCIS is known to process cases from the same general submission dates at different times, so you are not in an usual situation.

Best of luck.

Kinda condescending hearing that from someone who got their case approved in a year. There is nothing normal about what is going in. And the May date you showed is for average Joe asking USCIS. The date I was given was for my congressman office to get involved. They can inquire any day they please.

I fully understand where your coming from. The way that USCIS adjudicates cases (especially expedite requests) is extremely discretionary - one person makes a final decision and very little can be done to override it. Just spoke about this today with my lawyer and how there’s no set process for pretty much anything. While luck plays a big part, there are also countries which require more or less USCIS intervention - thus increasing case times for some.

Although USCIS should operate in a first-in, first-out basis for adjudicating cases, that clearly isn’t happening and hasn’t been so for ever basically. As per their stats, the 15 month time frame is for the adjudication of 80% of cases. So you’re technically still within normal processing times. You could easily have an answer tomorrow or possibly even after - someone from the August 2022 filers still hasn’t been approved.

In the event your case is taking longer than 15 months, you may also find it helpful to contact the USCIS Ombudsman, which is an independent party who works on your behalf to find out if there was any wrongdoing.

best of luck.

I'm sorry, but your bubble gum, pop replies are infuriating. You are just repeating B.S. that USCIS says. I don't care what their 80% processing time is. That is 100% irrelevant to the last 20%, especially when how the speed of processing scales from fast to slow as cases decreases for a month (like from 90 a day to 10 in some cases). It's useless information to us. And it's not even the real estimate. They are doing 80% in less tha 12 months now. They are almost done with 80% of March 2023. 🙄

It was a lot of action yesterday at USCIS for November cases for people still waiting for their NOA2. Hopefully it's be like this for the rest of the week
