1. Adjusted Gross Income as shown on sponsor's tax return

Unless the sponsor files the 1040EZ, this is wrong.  It's the total income.  Note that for some, it's the same number.  NOTE ALSO that this question is NOT about the tax section of the affidavit.  It's about the current income section.  Current income would be 60k in this case, and it would be documented with a current pay stub for the earned income and the annual declaration letter from the source of the income the sponsor receives in behalf of the child.  It's the parent's income, not the child's while still a child.

Pay stubs are provided by the organization the person is employed at right? So the organization's pay stub wouldn't include the income generated by the petitioner with the govt's support (i.e $20k) it will only include ($ 40k). Correct me if I am wrong please.

You're right but I said " and the annual declaration letter from the source of the income the sponsor receives in behalf of the child."  Two documents are needed as evidence of current income in this kind of case.  You speak of the petitioner as if you are not the petitioner.  Get the petitioner or somebody with English as their first language involved in your understanding, so they can understand complete sentences.  The affidavit of support is the petitioner's responsibility for a REASON.
