Hello together.

I filled for ROC in November 2022.

Under my application i have my daughter as a dependent.

We received an appointment for Biometrics for my minor daughter, but nothing for me yet.

Is that usual that we get two different appointments, especially since its a 4 hour drive.

Hi Katharina,

The same thing happened to us. I filed my I-751 with my 19 yo daughter as dependent. Both of us received separate NOA with different number. Then she received her waiver for the biometrics, few days after. Zero info for myself. Weird thing: one month later, she received another letter with an appointment for the week after to get her biometrics.

FYI, I am still waiting for mine since October 2022.

No surprise given the pace they have been reviewing the cases. Given that WAC receives around 10,000 cases a month it has to review 1,000 cases every 2 business days (10,000 cases/20 business days in a month) for processing times to stay what they currently are. For at least i-751 cases, the ones I am tracking, this pace has been about a quarter of that.

Let us know how it goes!! Good luck!

I filed I-751 in Aug 2021 and after NOA, nothing.  Current status is “received”.   I filed N-400 online 2 weeks ago, received NOA and status is “being actively reviewed”.   Hopefully it pushes things along.    I recently saw a YouTube video from an attorney stating USCIS is looking at current cases to try and bang them out instead of dealing with back log!

  • 2 weeks later...

Because it's been a while since USCIS received all the documents and no information regarding biometrics has been updated I decided to contact USCIS a few weeks ago. I received a very strange email from them today, which surprised me a lot. So here is the email:

"Dear *****:

On 01/28/2023, you or the designated representative shown below, contacted us about your case. Some of the key information given to us at that time was the following:

Caller indicated they are:
 -- Applicant or Petitioner

Attorney Name:
 -- Information not available

Case type:
 -- I751

Filing date:
 -- 11/10/2022

Receipt #:
 -- WAC-*****

Referral ID:
SR*****
Beneficiary (if you filed for someone else):
 -- Information not available

Your USCIS Account Number (A-number):
 -- Information not available

Type of service requested:
 -- Non-Delivery of Other Notice

The status of this service request is:

You or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your case to notify us that you have not received your biometrics appointment notice.  Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

Our records do not indicate that you are authorized for access to information related to this case.

Title 8 Code of Federal Regulations 103.2(a)(3) and the Privacy Act of 1974 prohibit release of information to persons other than the petitioner, applicant or legal representative identified on Form G-28.

What You Can Do
Please contact the petitioner or attorney of record for information regarding the petition.

We hope this information is helpful to you. "

Why they said that "Our records do not indicate that you are authorized for access to information related to this case." ? I'm very confused!

@Cornflake - Likely an error since you’re clearly the petitioner. If it’s any consolation, we’ve heard nothing on biometrics either from WAC. Did file a SR and got the usual canned response - case within normal processing time, blah blah blah.

Other WAC filers have indicated it’s not uncommon to wait up to 6 months or so to hear anything on biometrics, so I wouldn’t fret too much.

Thanks. I'm not too worried, I just decided to try to expedite the process. Didn't help though.)

Do you have a good reason to expedite? How is your case more special than other people's who filed in November 2022 and earlier?

Our case status just changed to ‘case was updated to show fingerprints were taken’ so I guess they are reusing biometrics.
