I can't find a November 2022 Filers thread, so I guess I'll create one!

I thought I was going to be an October 2022 filer as Oct. 31 was the day we became eligible to file, but needed an extra day to put my package in order, so ended up filing November 1st.

I'm a bit confused which Service Center to select in my Visa Journey timeline under the Removing Conditions section.

The choices are:

California Service Center

National Benefits Center (MSC)

Nebraska Service Center

Potomac Service Center

Texas Service Center

Vermont Service Center

I live in California, but the USCIS instructions told me to mail my package to the Phoenix, Arizona lockbox. Which Service Center is the Phoenix, Arizona lockbox associated with?

Posted (edited)

The service center is assigned by USCIS.  You don't get to pick it.

It seems that most people in California and surrounding states end up getting assigned WAC (California Service center).  So chances are you will get that as well.  You will find out once you get your case number.

I've seen a bunch of California people (myself included) get assigned to the National Benefits Center (MSC).

But yes, it's assigned and you don't get to pick. There's probably one they send to first and if that is getting a lot of case load, they send on somewhere else.

As others have said, the service center is assigned when you get your NOA. But if you want to update your profile (the part that shows you're still doing the K-1 visa stuff) you can update to something similar like what mine says and select the Phoenix filing location and that you are now doing ROC.

Thank you for creating this thread. ☺️

My TLDR timeline:

I came to Spokane, WA, USA from England on a K1 visa in Dec 2019

Filed AOS on Jan 3 2020

Invited to interview in April 2020 but COVID derailed that.
Interviewed in Spokane in early Sept 2020

RFE received after interview because USCIS lost my medical exam results that I gave at POE in Seattle & so I had to go redo the exam

Approved around Thanksgiving 2020

I filed ROC petition on 11/02/2022.
My GC expires on 11/24/2022.

I’ll update here when there is news and I receive the extension letter or any news about using biometrics.

Wishing everyone a smooth processing experience! 🌻

Guess it's time to jump on the ROC train myself. If I counted right I should be eligible to file next Friday ( calculator on USCIS page is not working). So I guess I have to sit down next week and prep everything ( and probably wait a couple extra days to not mess up the date ) 🙈

As exciting as it kinda is I'm not in the mood especially looking at the filing fee 🙃

I remember your name from AOS filing!! ☺️

I felt a similiar way (not being in the mood) which is why I procrastinated instead of filing in August when I was eligible. I don’t recommend doing that 😂 the ‘not in the mood’ feeling just set in harder over time.

Good luck on your journey! ☺️

Glad to see us all coming back together here 😁

Soooo big question: each and every bank statement/ utility bill etc or one for each quarter?

We're talking about 33 bank statements with 8 pages each. 262 pages only for bank statements. Sounds completely like overkill but I know that USCIS says to send as much as possible.

I just submitted my packet this morning! Such a relief to have it out the door, and will be even nicer once the extension letter arrives and I can relax a bit. Good luck everyone!!

I'm still debating. With bank/credit card/ car loan/ car registrations/ the military stuff/ drivers licenses/ lease/ bills and everything one sided I would end up with about 500 pages evidence 😳
