How long is the K-1 Visa valid?

Hi there!

I know that the K-1 is valid for 90 days... but: starting from the issue date or from the date of arrival in the US?

Also: If a temporary work authorization is issued, how long is it valid? Is it possible to receive the EAD before the temporay work authorization expires.. in other words: Is it likey that I can continue working without a break?

Hey there,

Once you have recieved your visa, you have 6 months to use it. Once you enter into the USA, it expires on the 90th day.

Your temp authorization is only as good for as long as your K1 is good. If you recieve it at the border, get married, and file AOS ASAP, you may receive your EAD it before it expires.

i haven't heard of anyone working with the temp EAD and not having to take a break before getting the actual EAD. this may be hard and depends on where you ar efiling your AOS. many people just wait until the get the actual EAD.

Agreed , its very hard to get an EAD right after your temp expires.
