How to get Visa for England for Wife

My wife and I are planning on a Trip to England.  We just got her an ADIT stamp to ensure she can get back into the US.

However, I had not considered the fact that she needs a VISA to get into England as she is not yet a permanent resident of the US.

She has a Russian passport, so somehow she needs to get a UK Visa, but that seems difficult to get as she is here in the US, not in Russia.

So what do we do?  She says that we need to go to a UK embassy here in the US and apply for the Visa.  Is this correct?

I have checked the UK Embassy Website, but did not find any useful information.

Did she file an I-751?  If so, she IS considered a perm resident of the US.

Russians require a visa to visit the UK, being a LPR does not change that.

Your wife is a permanent resident. But that doesn’t come with visa free travel to the UK. I’m not sure where you got that information from. She needs to apply for a UK tourist visa at their consulate in the US. The only countries that would allow her in visa free would be Canada and Mexico and maybe few others (I think Costa Rica) if I’m not mistaken.

Apply online.  Depending on appointment availability near you, it is possible you would have an answer before December 16th.
