In fairness, no one would have supported her move here in writing, as that would make them accomplices for anything that follows.

 

While waiting for the lawyer, do read up older threads on this forum. While unusual, your situation is not unique.

 

You might be able to reach out to people who had gone down a similar path and look into their world - years later.

This can easily change for you and your parents for the reasons outlined in many comments above. You're not invincible.

The worst case for you is jail time and not being able to see your kid for some time because of that.
