Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was attacked at the couple’s home in San Francisco early Friday morning, the Democratic speaker’s office said in a statement. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Drew Hammill, a spokesman for Nancy Pelosi, said the assailant is in custody and a motive is being investigated. The speaker was in Washington at the time of the attack, a spokesperson said.

I think Boiler was referring to Old Nancy doing a little bit of domestic re-adjustment to Paul.  Now this might happen in a few weeks.

I don't think it's appropriate to be making jokes at this time guys.

This was a horrific and brutal attack on an elderly person by what appears to be a very deranged cultist. 

Her husband is not out of danger and is undergoing brain surgery right now and he would be dead if the police hadn't gotten there in time.

It is shocking that such an attack could happen at a house I thought was supposed to have protection at all times.

Good Lord, even the Baltimore mayor had 24-7 security posted at his house all the time back in the day. You'd think better protection could be afforded to the family of officials.

You don't believe the family of currently sitting elected officials, such as a spouse or children should receive protection from bodily harm that could result in kidnapping, extortion, or murder?

 

18 USC 115, certainly states it is quite a big crime to do so. Most mayors and governors families receive better daily protection than this man did.

Is it just an assumption that the Pelosi family doesn't have a security detail whether it is provided to them or paid for on their own? Do we know whether or not they had private security who may have been absent during this event? Seems like high profile people with a 100-200 millions dollars in the bank would have some sort of security plan in place. But it also seems like an 82 year old man could have afforded to pay for an UBER a few months back instead of driving under the influence. 

 

Of course they should have security, nobody should get attacked like that. If it wasn't provided by government, that might be an oversight. If they didn't think to provide it for themselves considering their income and ability to pay for it, that's just stupid.

From what I've read when she is not at home there is no security detail. Which is... frankly alarming, if not naive on their part to not be concerned about danger. It's unclear yet how the police got alerted, perhaps there was a silent alarm or some sort of security feature.. just not actual guards. I would certainly also agree that anyone, rich or poor does not belong drunk driving... but yet it happens every day sadly. Is it stupidity on their part to not think of having security, or did they somehow believe their home had some sort of security that clearly wasn't present? So many questions.

I can see an argument for Nancy when on official business being made but I ask again why would he who has been elected by nobody be different to someone down the street.
