HI, Nice to meet you. this is first time to post here.

I am Japanese and I am living in Japan. My fiance is American citizen and living in America.

I wonder how long does it take to get K1 visa ?

I am also thinking about taking a F1 visa and enter US and change to Immigrant visa.

Hos many days I have to wait for getting marry after I entered US by F1 visa? Over 60days? or I can get marry as soon as I arrive in Us by F1 visa?

Which is good way K1 visa or F1 visa? He and I are long-distance love for 2 years, actually I don't want to wait more. I heard to take K1 visa take so long time (about 6 months or 1 year...)

anyway, I hope someone answer my question. :help::help::help:

The length of the K-1 depends on which office your spouse files in. Vermont seems to be the quickest. Mine took 104 days.

The way the visa works, upon approval, you ahve 90 days to marry.Good luck

wow, we have already recieved our Biometrics appointments. It is only 2 1/2 weeks away.

It seems to be moving rather quickly.

This is great.

Requesting information on potentially using a non-immigrant visa gain entry to the country in order to immigrate will undoubtedly not generate the type of discussion you expect.

YMMV

If you enter the US on a student visa (F1) with the intention to immigrate, that's visa fraud...

As you can see from my signature, I'm adjusting from F1 but when I entered the country I did not have the intention to immigrate...I met my now husband while I was in collge, we fell in love and decided to get married...

If I were you, I would look into other visa options such as the K1 or K3.

Good luck!

The timeline will also vary greatly with the Country.

Please don't engage in visa fraud by coming to the USA on a student visa with the intention of marrying and adjusting status to permanent resident.

Thank you for your kind reply on the other forum.

My question here is, with (CR1)case pending, coming to the U.S with Japanese passport (under visa waiver program) and stays for a month or two also fraud? Thank you.

You are allowed to visit during the visa process. The immigration officer can deny you entry if they feel you may stay past the expiry date on the I-94 (the document you receive at entry). But visiting on a valid I-94 and returning to Japan for a new visa before trying to immigrate is perfectly fine.
