My wife has been acting really strange the last 2 months, I'm having really bad feelings about the affadivid of support I signed. It's so bad I'm not even sure if she was the one texting me this morning. She's been distant but suddently she tells me out of nowhere she wants to travel 8 hours to a distant city for a seminar for 3 days. I tell her go, even though she never told me she was interested in that sort of thing, i did tell her i'm not going to pay her for her trip. She started acting a little pissy about it, posted on her instagram "if you have the opportunity to be born poor in a **** hole, reject it". I pay all her bills, and give her plenty of extra money for her to save up, she's definetly waaaaaaaaaaayyyy off from being poor. But she's been a bit spicy ever since. I also owed my ex 3k and wanted to pay her in full, my wife got to the point of wanting to tell my ex she was pregnant and I couldn't pay her the full amount and looked for pictures online of a pregnant woman that had her skin tone just to save 1k. I'm not feeling comfortable being on the hook of paying 20k + a year to someone I just recently saw scheme someone out of very little money.

Note: NVC has my case under review, we still don't have an interview date.

I assume you are aware I 864 has been used in Divorce settlements, protect yourself.

I contacted my lawyer already, she said because our marriage has been so short (7 months) and have no children, property or even prior marriage it should be more than okay. There hasn't been a visa interview either. If she even does decide to argue I'd just send her disappearing behavior as evidence that she's being sketchy and hard to reach.

Are you complete sure you want to withdraw the petition and the AOS? Once you do that, you can’t take that back; it will be irrevocable and you’ll need to start over from the beginning. Just an FYI because we see it occasionally here that the petitioner regretted their decision.

On the other hand, if you’re having doubts, your gut might be telling you something. In order to stop the current process, I’d write the NVC through a public inquiry form stating the case number, names, A number of your spouse and tell them you’d like to withdraw the petition and I-864. Since it takes a while for them to respond, I’d also send an email to the Immigration unit of your consulate that you’d like to withdraw (include case number, A-bunker of your spouse) and ask them for confirmation they received your request.

Thank you for the concern :) I understand many many people here want nothing more than to be with their loved one. I do too, so I'm going to have a talk with her to see how things go. However all things considered, this isn't because of an argument.

First step is a frank discussion of your concerns.  An intermediate step short of permanently ending the process, is to ask NVC to delay scheduling an interview.  Your affidavit of support is not "enforceable" until she enters the USA, and it is most likely something she has never seen, or at least does not have a signed copy of to use in a divorce proceeding in her own country.  Wait until you are absolutely certain you want to terminate the marriage, to actually stop the process in a final way.  No need to explain your reason for delay to NVC, so don't.
