So Liz Truss is out.  After just 44 days her premiership is no more.  'I’m a fighter, not a quitter', she said in parliament yesterday, and now she's quit.  Her premiership deserves to live in ignominy.  Not necessarily because her blunders were so spectacular – though many of them were – but because of what this strangled-at-birth stint in Downing Street tells us about British politics more broadly.  [...]

Pantsuits for female politicians don't ever seem to be much of a thing over there. One thing I did notice about Truss though, was that she appears to have at times major issues with anxiety and being around the public and that did not reflect well on her. Some speculated she was taking medication, but there was also a lot of unpleasant misogyny directed around.

Agree, just read the Guardian or listen to LBC, misogyny has been rife.

Well it seems it will now be Rishi Sunak, an exceedingly wealthy young man (the couple are billionaires), who was already caught up in the partygate scandal, is inexperienced, and had a larger scandal when it came to his inability to pay taxes and keep his green card status in the US (which he tried to hide). This morning he did not shake Matt Hancock's hand (the one that groped his mistress under a photo of QEII) and gave a speech that was smiling, unblinking, and extremely robotic. So that's promising! Anyway he now becomes the youngest??? prime minister, and the first Asian prime minister, er and maybe also the first green card holder prime minister?

Aren’t people of Indian heritage considered PoC?  That seems important to some folks.
