I recently received DQ and also an note stating I do not net income requirements.

This was due to the fact that both me and my spouse (who is my sponsor) live in a foreign country and work for foreign employers

We’ve decided to add a joint sponsor as requested by NVC (family member living in USA)

My question now is, during the interview, will adding the joint sponsor (income over poverty line) fulfill the income requirements?

We also included our house as an asset

I know what they want to see is whether or not your income will continue after immigrating to US, but not sure how that’s proven since we will not request employment relocation or look for new jobs until the visa is obtained.

Will the joint sponsor and home assets suffice for the visa to be approved at the interview or is more required? Seeing if anyone else had to go through the same

Any help is appreciated.

Home is dodgy unless it is an investment property, a well qualified Joint Sponsor should be OK

If your income is not continuing then you have nothing to prove.

Thanks for your advice.
I also read using your own home as an asset is not a good idea, would you mind provided more context on that?

it’s our home we’ll be selling shortly after receiving the visa and moving to US. so we’ll have that liquid cash/equity along with us. I’m not sure why they wouldn’t consider that as supplemental income

If you sell it and can show the cash that would help, for some reason they prefer income despite what the form says

Yes, though I wouldn’t be selling it until after the interview and visa is approved, as we’re still living in the house

It depends on which country you are interviewing in, the UK is fairly flexible when it comes to an asset like that. I know people who have shown their mortgage/equity documents and been able to use it for their income requirement. But some consulates are not as flexible and only want to see 'cash in hand'.

I recommend searching the site for people from your consulate who have been in the same position.
