Hello,

When I was in college several years ago, I was convicted of a minor in consumption of alcohol and had to pay a small fine.

I have already submitted my I-129F and answered yes to section 3, part 4.a. In 5.b. I said what the charge was, the date, the location of the incident and that it was sealed

Because the note stating you need to submit documents about any arrests or convictions was placed after the severe offenses, I did not think it was required for this low-level misdemeanor. I am having second thoughts based on other posts on the forum.

If the answer is that I need to add this information, how do I do so now that it has been filed? Is it more efficient to wait for a possible RFE?

It's also worth noting that I live with my Fiancé in her country, so obtaining the document is not streamlined.

Thanks!

I used to believe it was better to ask for an RFE, but a recent post on Reddit by a USCIS ISO (as reported in https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/791012-why-is-uscis-so-slow-from-a-former-officers-perspective/ ) changed my mind.

To send unsolicited evidence write a cover letter that has the case number,, and state that you are adding unsolicited additional evidence  and summarize the evidence. Include a photocopy of your I-129F receipt.  Send this to the service center that has your I-129F case.

Why are you doing a K1?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Now that I see CR1s are taking about the same time, it was probably a mistake in retrospect.

The logic was that I wanted to move back to the states as quickly as possible, and wanting the proper wedding to be the official one. Something that's extremally hard to accomplish when the time frame is so unknown.
