Hello! My I-751 case was updated from ready to be scheduled for an interview to fingerprints taken today (October 17, 2022, Pacific Standard Time around 6PM).

Does this mean I would need to wait for another 6-12 months for an interview?

(I filed my I-751 on December 16, 2020. My case had been ready for an interview since December 15, 2021. I did not get any update after December 15, 2021 until today).

Thank you!

What service center is your case at?

Did you recently do biometrics, or were the fingerprints reused?

I do not think it indicates that your case is retrogressing-  if anything, I would think it is progressing to the interview.

My fingerprints were reused. I did my biometrics back in 2018 for my I-485.

Not necessary. You are waiting for an interview date from your local USCIS field office, I think it is a good sign they are working on your case.

Thank you!

Your case was "ready to be scheduled for an interview". Then your "fingerprints (were) taken today".

The case status simply reflects the most recent activity.

That was a step forward. It did not undo the previous state. You are still "ready to be scheduled for an interview".
