I think the reality of it is that older less desirable men and women may choose to look for a foreign spouse because they feel they can find someone a little more attractive and younger than they could find here in the US.

I'd hardly say that height difference would make anyone question if anybody was being used.

I think it's a bit unfair to just put this on the American women...I mean how many older men have hot women? That doesn't even have to be a USC/non-USC situation because sometimes the levelling factor is money, success, etc....but there are pairs that LOOK like '(s)he must have a lot of money' lol.

Yes, it's superficial. But we do live in a superficial world, people will notice and even think it to themselves...pretending it doesn't exist does not make it so.

Hmm....well, I can honestly say this doesn't apply to me or my husband. Neither of us were actively looking, nor looking for a foreign spouse. I certainly don't consider myself an older less desirable woman either. :lol:

Indeed. We didn't know about our age difference when we first met anyway.

And I may be older than he is, but I am most certainly not less desirable :)

I think there's some middle ground in society. How many women here wear makeup? Buy nice clothes? How many men make sure they're clean shaven & whatnot? Who here brushes his/her hair everyday? Why is that? Cos we all have a bit of superficiality to us.

Admitting that is not a bad thing. I'm not demeaning anyone's relationship...but when there's a disproportionate number of mixed-age relationships, one is not evil for mentioning it.
