Hello!

I have been researching the processing and filing process for the fiance visa and I see that the filing location on the form I-129F page on the USCIS site is Dallas, Texas. However, all the K1 visas are currently being processed at the California service center.

If this is the case, is it possible to bypass sending it to Texas and instead ship it straight to the California P.O. box? Or do we have to send it to Texas in order for them to send it to California..

I'm not sure if this question has been posed already but if so please link the thread below.

Thank you!

You must send it to the Texas lock-box.  They will process receipt, then transfer the case to the California Service Center.

Why would you want to deliberately do something that will delay the acceptance of the petition?   When USCIS specifies instructions, be it a mailing address or other, that means that’s the way they want it done.   It doesn’t mean it’s ‘optional’ and you can revert to doing it the way you see for.

I would not want to deliberately do anything that I know would delay the acceptance process, obviously.

My question was clearly one posed based on needing clarification due to the confusion on my part of the two locations, and wondering IF this option was a possibility. It even could have been that the website had outdated information, which was my thought.

Anyways, the answer to my question was stated clearly by Crazy Cat above (without the condescending tone that you had I might add)  so thanks for nothing!

The USCIS website has the MOST up to date info and forms.
Follow instructions from USCIS literally.

Soon you will learn that:

1) The USCIS webpage is the one and only source for updated addresses.

2) There is no such thing as "bypassing" processing centers in immigration. If this was a thing, more people would be doing it.

Follow instructions to the T and you'll be alright.

rudeness is not a good thing on this webpage

"Thanks for nothing"   don't do that to people trying to help u

reason:

it will delay your case if u send to Ca. office / they will mail it back

as the lockbox handles assignment of cases and the fee

offices do not handle money for obvious reasons

Thank you everyone for your answers. Apologies to @Jorgedig for my tone in my response to you and thanks @JeanneAdil for reminding me that rudeness is not necessary.

I appreciate all the responses and understand the mailing procedures now.

The lockbox verifies the petition, processes the fee and sends it to California or Vermont.
