Hello my husband is trying to apply to become a citizen but got a DUI back in 2018 he already went to the court to get his disposition papers but the lawyer keeps saying what they are giving him are not disposition papers he has gone back and told them he needs these papers for immigration purposes, and again they told him these are the disposition papers. Can someone tell me what these disposition papers should look like? The documents he got are...

"Superior Court of California County Contra Costa"

"Misdemeanor Advisement of Rights, Waiver And Plea Form"

Felony And Misdemeanor Clerks Docket And Minutes"

"Misdemeanor Order Of Probabtion"

"Attorney's Statement"

"Certified of Completion Certificate.

These look like disputation papers to me.  Do they have raised and/or wet seal?

If his lawyer is unwilling to get what the lawyer considers are proper disposition papers, then he should get a new immigration lawyer or hire a criminal lawyer to aid him.  If the criminal lawyer says these are disposition papers and the immigration lawyer disagree then he is at an impasse

What matters is what USCIS wants.  If the documents are insufficient, USCIS will send an RFE. And then his immigration lawyer gets the joy of saying “told ya” but more importantly he will finally have clarity on what is required.

Who owns the client file in California?

But it is settled in California that the client papers and property that the client is entitled to receive belong to the client, not to the attorney. (Rose v. State Bar (1989) 49 Cal.
