Sooo my husband and I applied I-130 online on September 29th 2022, and we received the receipt number the same day.

The USCIS case tracker says “case was received and a receipt notice was sent”. However, we still haven’t received any actual mail from USCIS or we haven’t find out which NVC our application goes. When I researched online a lot of people mentioned that they got NOA 1 a day after or couple days after applying for this CR-1 visa. I was honestly confused about what NOA1 is. Does NOA1 include of knowing which NVC your visa application go through? I really want to know because we haven’t received any type of further info but our status says “case was received and a receipt notice was sent”.

The NOA1 is just a receipt showing USCIS accepted the I130, all the required evidence was included, and the fee was correct.  When the I130 is approved, you will receive the NOA2 that will tell you the next steps.  As to actually receiving the mailed NOA1, be patient, unless you moved recently, it will show up.

Good Luck!

Dashinka,

thank you for your response! so do you consider our current status is past NOA1 phase (that says “case was received and a receipt notice was sent”) ?
also how long does it take to receive actual mailed NOA1 ? I came across some tweets and blog posts that says they received actual mail within couple weeks so I’m kind of worried.

If you applied online, a copy of the receipt should be available in the documents section. Check.

NVC your visa application go through

There’s only one NVC which is the next step after you get your petition approved. Your spouse applies for the visa at the consulate.

Since you applied online, you should see a document under Documents tab with the receipt notice, we both have the same priority date. Can you please update your timeline so it helps everyone?

So that receipt notice under document tab is what y’all called “NOA1”??

I edited the timeline but I’m still figuring out how to use this website because this is my first time using it. Did you or your spouse receive mailed NOA1 yet?
