waiting for NOA-1... no news yet

I got a friend who is waiting for their NOA-1. They submitted the I-129F (Nebraska office) last May 31st and until now they haven't received any news except that they cashed-in the check 1st week of July. Do anyone here have the same situation like my friend? What is the minimum days NOW to receive NOA-1?

During May and June, many notifications were not generated. So he may never actually get his NOA1. But that doesn't really matter that much, its the NOA2, that he will need later in the process.

USCIS has been all screwed up with the NOAs. Best to call them and he "should" be able to get his case number. A friend of mine filed at about the same time and hasn't received anything either.

He called a couple weeks ago and at least got his case number!

As long as you can get the case number off the cancelled check, that is all you need. The NOA1 is just a notification that they received your petition.
