Biden pardons thousands of people convicted of marijuana possession, orders review of federal pot laws

Finally Biden nails one. I think the vast majority of resonable people agree with this one. No point in filling our prison system up with Marijuana offenses.  Way past time to reform our non effective draconian drug laws.

 

I had supper the other night with a Georgia Bureau of investigation agent who agreed it was a huge waste of resources.

Why should it be a crime? Its legal in roughly 19 states. Prohibition  proved those kind of laws don't work . Look at all the orginazed crime it caused. 

 

Alcohol is a much more addictive and dangerous drug

It's only fully illegal in about 4 states now when you look at medicinal as well as CBD with THC products.  ID, WY, KS, SC.

You can say that again 

Progress is being made.  But just like with prohibition, it is slow.  And while I agree that alcohol is a "worse drug", don't be fooled into thinking that MJ crimes don't happen.  They are on the uptick.

I stick to beer but know people who consume.

 

One of those no win scenarios, I do not believe there are no consequences, just like beer, moderation etc, and I have seen the consequences since it went legal here. 

 

No idea what the solution is.

I really doubt the cartels would be out of business.  I think they still have a hand in the marijuana business in some states.

Not really sure what you mean here.  My point was that even in a state like Oregon that has essentially legalized all drugs, the cartels are still in the business.  What difference does it make if they are doing it legally or not when their only purpose is to undercut the legal industry so they can survive.
