For K1 i had used a lawyer...sigh didnt know about VJ at that time else would have saved a lot of money! Anyways, for K1 we had filled G325A for both of us. I am wondering if i should just send for both of us for AOS as well though the guide here tells us to send for me the non-US cit. spouse

If you are sending the I-485 you only need a G325A for yourself (assuming you are the foreigner).

The only case when you need to have one for the USC is when you file the I-130 at the same time (other visas than K1,K3...).

You only need copy of the passport (biometric part and stamps) for you, unless you don't have a birth certificate for the US citizen if my memory is correct.

Take the time to read the instructions and highlight everything that applies to you in it when it comes to what you should bring with it.

Don't forget the photos that go with the G325A.

Why would proof of the USC's citizenship be needed?

OOps, sorry that was for the I-130... I got confused since the person was talking about a copy of both spouse's passport.

Thanks for reminding about the photos for the G325A. I also found conflicting information on the Marriage Certificate here. Some say a regular photocopy needs to be attached and some have written "Certified copy of Marriage certificate" i am confused??? And should we include pictures from our wedding with the application?

Send a photocopy of the certified marriage certificate.

I would save the wedding photos for the AOS interview itself.

Edited to add: no passport photos needed for the G 325A. It is not a requirement for that form.

Cecy, After reading your post I went back to the G325A form..it doesnty say anything about the photos??? Am i missing anything here?

It's in the I-485 instruction, page 3

Submit two identical, natural color passport-style photographs of yourself, taken within 30 days of theapplication. The photos must have a white background, beunmounted, printed on thin paper, and be glossy and unretouched. They must show your full-frontal facial position with your head bare. You may wear a headdress,if required by a religious order of which you are a member.

It's not with the G325A, but it's part of everything that comes with the I485.

Sorry for confusing you by writing G325A, it's how I reminded myself since that form has all the biography information...

Unless I'm mistaken it's for everyone.

For the rest, the USCIS made a statement that they no longer require original and that copies are fine, but that you should always be ready to send originals if requested. I think that usually bringing them to the interview is fine.

No need for wedding pictures as you came with a K visa. Keep it for the interview.
