Medical process and additional tests? [merged threads]

(Sorry for format issues, on mobile)

My fiance and I are waiting for the 2nd NOA for my interview within the year. Prior to that is the medical right? So we're trying to prepare for it financially and I was wondering if anyone here has any recent experience going through the process.

I know of the 18k fee but upon checking the list of requirements and workflow from SLEC there are chest xrays and STD tests that I have to take. Are these included in the 18k or are they separate tests? If so how much would EVERYTHING cost and how long will I need to stay in Manila to get these done? Also, I heard lines for the medical test start at around 2AM because SLEC doors open at 4 but clinic hours don't start til 7 (as depicted on Google) is this true?

Total cost for the visa medical at SLEC Manila is listed here -- https://slec.ph/registration/us/visa-applicant.php

It covers all the required standard tests, vaccinations (except COVID), and TB treatment (if necessary).  Psychiatric evaluation (if necessary) may be charged separately.

No need to line up early at SLEC as the medical is done by appointment.  They'll only let you in around 30 minutes before your appointment, so it would be useless to show up too early.

St. Luke's is requiring a chest xray FILM prior to the medical examination. I've looked around the city and barely any lab still uses it. They only do digital xrays printed out on PAPER now. Is this accepted at SLEC or do I need to find a lab that still uses old school film? I've reached out to SLEC via email and hotline, both were useless. I want to make sure I don't screw up over a technicality.

I also have an old chest xray film from 2016 but there is some water damage. You can see the facility name,my last name but barely a date though the medical request, the printed and signed results are still in the envelope along with the film. Will these be ok too? I was thinking of just bringing both if I have to.

Thank you for any help

Where did you see this?  If you have old x-rays, you MAY bring them, but I doubt the doctor will bother to ask.  If not, you don't need to get one before your medical because they are NOT required.  Really.

It's on the SLEC website. It says for information purposes so it's really ok if I don't bring it? I don't want to make a mistake over a technicality

On the website it says if applicable. You could try to bring your old film but I am thinking they will take another one during the medical anyway.

.Your thinking is correct. They will take an x-ray no matter what. Whatever you bring has no effect on the outcome of your medical. My post above is also from their website

Hi Gubby, I just finished my medical last November 3 and 4, with God’s grace, I passed. This is just to add to the informative reply of Chancy and the rest, to your question as to how many days you may need to stay in Manila. I stayed from November 2-5 since my medical was scheduled Nov 3 at 9AM and finished the same day. However, was advised to come back the next day Nov4 1030AM for the result, this is when you will know if you passed, be vaccinated or failed and require sputum, not guaranteed that this will be all done in the morning that’s why its best to check out the following day, which for me is Nov 5. Also, please do not forget to bring your vax cards (with fotocopies) and very importantly, a print out of you Vaxcert Ph and its better to pay the fee beforehand at Security bank to finish Day 1 earlier. God bless on your visa journey.
