Do I need to checkbox "Self-Employed" in i-864, if my W2 income is sufficient for sponsorship?

If my day to day work provides enough $ for sponsoring i-485 application via W2, do I need to checkbox Part 6, #4 "Self Employed as a/an (Occupation)" and fill it, for the sake of completeness?

I have minor concerns if I were to fill it, because in last 1-2 years our LLC is not making profit at all due to COVID. And of note - although it deducts our income on our tax transcripts, the adjusted total is still thankfully enough for sponsorship. I am slightly worried that if I include this information, it would:

  1. Make USCIS ask the question: will you lose more money in 2022? (The answer is no as far as I can tell for now, but it would be a difficult case to argue, until we are in Dec.)
  2. Add piles of additional documents to the whole application, but only to support few thousand dollars of loss

Please let me know what you think. Thanks very much!

Self employment income complicates an I-864, and so I agree with you. Don’t include it or mention it in I-864.
