Should I fillout I-131 with I-485 if no travel plans?

While filling out I-485, should I fill out I-131 - Appliation of Travel Document, since there are no travel plans? What is the advantage of filling out with I-485 AOS?

Its free. 

IT TAKES 6-8  months  compared to 12-24 for the AOS 
you never know when something unexpected is going to come up that requires you to make a trip outside the US

ABSOLUTELY YES!!!!!   Many people have failed to submit an I-131, then regretted that decision later.  You might have an emergency or need to travel before obtaining your Green Card.  It happens more often than you think.  There are people stranded outside the US simply because they failed to apply for advance parole.  Just do it.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

I agree, fill it out, you never know when an emergency might require travel.

Question- On I-131 on Part 2. Application Type, Which option I shold select. My parent is already in USA? Is it 1D- Applying for Advance Parole Document to allow me to return to USA?

Yes, you should (at least, as long as it's free). Your plans could change (especially if processing your I-485 takes an unusually long time), and your definition of an emergency may not be the same as USCIS' (so you might not be able to get emergency advance parole for what you consider an emergency).

 

If USCIS ever starts charging for an I-131 filed with an I-485 or gets back to routinely processing AOS in a few months, then you might think about skipping the I-131, but they're not doing that now.
