She don't need to sign any part of the I-864 and it doesn't ask for it other then your signature anywhere.

Try reading very carefully again, including all the instructions, because you have probably misinterpreted other things too. The form does not require the signature of the sponsored immigrant.

I was looking at the old download here in this site. Things are now different. Thanx guys for the input you all are right the new form does not ask for it.

Even the older form did not ask for the visa applicant's signature.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

If you filed a joint return it did ask for the spouses signature.

You asked whether I-864 needs to be signed by the visa applicant. That is completely different from filing joint tax return. So what is your question actually?

In the old I-864 there used to be a tax authorization form that asks for the spouses signature. But that signature was only needed if you had filed jointly.
