Or does not have the aptitude, skills, or dedication to do what is needed.  Some hire professionals simply because they have better things to do with their time than the homework involved in the process.  Not everybody has the same skill set or motivation.

I don't disagree, but often times those are the ones that have issues since they seem to think hiring an attorney is a pay and forget transaction.

Waste of money unless you have a complicated case. Even with a semi-complicated case, it's still something you can DIY. My husband and I had several so-called "red flags" and we did the entire process starting with the I-130, up to and including naturalization, without even an RFE. I didn't even find VJ until after the NVC stage and my husband was almost ready for his interview at the consulate. There are guides here to follow and if you have questions, there are always qualified members of this community who will answer and offer their help. And trust me, their knowledge is worth it's weight in gold. Just awesome people here. Good luck!

This is a biggie. If one is not detail oriented and willing to do lots of homework, it can be very tough. Even with an easy case.

As I said in my previous answer, there are guides at the top of the page and plenty of knowledgeable people here to answer any questions or concerns you may have along the way, IF you decide to do it on your own. But PLEASE if you do decide to go with an attorney, do your due diligence. Time and time again, day in and day out-we have people come here only to tell us how much their so-called immigration attorney has royally screwed up their case.

All true, but the ones who do hire competent professionals who do thing right, don't have any need to come HERE to talk about it..  Do they?

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
