I don’t understand are they supposed to be at weekend or so ?!

I am 28 oct i hope i got response by monday

@Simplytex hope you get DQ by today!

It's unlikely. Usually they work on Saturdays, in the last two months, they have improved processing time, but even before COVID could take 1 month.

Today they did Oct 24, so I think my review on Tuesday/Wednesday, but yours by the end of the week, probably Thursday.

my marriage certificate is in English though and got all the required stamps.

Did you get married in Kuwait?  If so, the NVC reviewer got confused because the DOS Reciprocity page still says that for marriages in Kuwait, "Marriage certificates are only available in the Arabic language" -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Kuwait.html

I got married outside of Kuwait.

I understand the problem now,I uploaded the marriage certificate but they want the marriage registration paper.
Totally my fault,I should have checked the requirement of the marriage certificate format in the country I got married at.

Any new news for beyond 24 oct

I doubt it, the day has just begun! So, probably the NVC timeframes page will update first (usually between noon-4pm EST), and any reviews/approvals will come through this afternoon or evening.

Hi everyone. I have a quick question to ask. I filed for my dad and submitted all documents to NVC on the 28 of October but included his marriage certificate amongst documents submitted. Now I got a ref for invalid marriage certificate. I just want to ask if submitting the marriage certificate was necessary in the first place for this petition and if i could request that NVC disregard the document since my petition wasn’t marriage based.

thanks for your response.

I'm a little confused. You say you submitted all the documents on the 28th, but NVC isn't processing those cases yet (I'm on the 26th), so are you saying you somehow already got reviewed and an RFE, or that you are worried about it?

At this point, I wouldn't touch anything in your documents and just wait for the review. If they have questions about the documents you provided, then you will get an RFE, if not, then you will get DQ.

Overall, no, it doesn't seem like a marriage certificate is important to provide for a parent application, but if you did, I'm not sure how you can 'take it away', maybe someone else can suggest.

How do you know nvc isn’t processing those cases yet? What it says on their website is incorrect/not updated regularly.

Cause they go in chronological order, their website updates on Monday afternoons so this data is fresh (today, they are processing people from Oct 24th/25th maybe) and I'm Oct 26th. I expect to be reviewed maybe tomorrow, but probably Wednesday, so somehow the other post doesn't make sense if they submit docs on Oct 28th, they wouldn't be reviewed yet.
