Biometrics question

It has been 6 months since our AOS application was received at Chicago. After receiving the NOA for this, we heard nothing until last week when we received a notice for fingerprinting. The code on the letter is 1, indicating that it's fingerprints only. We have not had any other biometrics done before this, no picture or signature. I'm not sure what this means. Has this ever happenned to anyone else?

My wife had her biometrics appointment today for her AOS.

They only took her fingerprints.

Does anyone know why they didn't take her photograph?

That's weird....how about her signature...?

I had my biometrics for AOS yesterday, and they took fingerprints, signature and photograph.

Did they take all 10 fingerprints or only 2?? Usually if they take only fingerprints it means it is for EAD only and not for AOS. You should have brought all of your NOAs and they would have taken your fingerprints, picture and signature. I guess now you will just have to wait for another biometrics appointment for the rest...

That is very strange, I have never heard of soemthing like that happening. Hopefully this will not delay your process.

Very odd indeed! My picture, prints and signature were all taken at my biometrics appointment but I was also requesting the EAD and the AP. I wonder if anyone else experienced this.

She took her NOA for AOS.

She did not apply for EAD.

It's normal. They will use one of the passport pictures you sent with your AOS application for the card, instead of taking a new picture on the biometrics appointment.

I know there's a photo and a fingerprint on GC, but I'm not sure if there's a signature anywhere on it. If it's not there, then it's not really needed to be taken in biometrics appointment for AOS.
