Enough evidence of marital union?

I've been an LPR (10-yr GC) for less than a year, so I hadn't been seriously thinking about N-400 yet.  Now that I've become more active in the Citizenship forum, I realized that I've been careless with the evidence that I may need for my N-400.  For the first 6 months since I moved here, I had deleted my USPS Informed Delivery notifications after reading them 🤦‍♀️  And my husband had also thrown out billing statements after paying them 🤦‍♀️  Fortunately, we may be able to download copies of the billing statements, but I'm wondering if I should still spend the effort to dig up the deleted notifications (my husband says he might have archived copies).

Here's the evidence of marital union that we have now.  Is this enough?  Unlikely that we'll be able to add more kinds of evidence, hence the worry that those deleted notifications may actually be important.

  1. Our state ID/DL show the same address
  2. We are on the same health insurance plan
  3. We have 2 joint bank accounts
  4. I'm an authorized user on his credit card
  5. He's the beneficiary listed on my investment account
  6. Our mobile phone bill lists both our names in the family plan
  7. Our prescription medicine labels show the same address and same pharmacy
  8. Some family pictures since I arrived in the US

Thanks for your input.

N400 needs way less evidence than previous applications. As per VJ guidelines, this is all that is needed if filing under the three- year rule:

. Evidence that your spouse has been a U.S. citizen for the last three years:

to_post_off.gif Birth certificate (if your spouse never lost citizenship since birth), or
to_post_off.gif Naturalization certificate, or
to_post_off.gif Certificate of Citizenship, or
to_post_off.gif The inside of the front cover and signature page of your spouse's current U.S. passport, or
to_post_off.gif Form FS-240, 'Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States of America', and

2. Your current marriage certificate; and

3. Proof of termination of all prior marriages of your spouse-divorce decree(s), annulment(s), or death certificate(s); and

4. Documents referring to you and your spouse:

to_post_off.gif Tax returns, bank accounts, leases, mortgages, or birth certificates of children, or
to_post_off.gif Internal Revenue Service (IRS)-certified copies of the income tax forms that you both filed for the past three years, or
to_post_off.gif An IRS tax return transcript for the last three years.

The VJ guide is incorrect then. Evidence of continuous martial union is required. Whether a particular IO in a particular case requires it can vary.

My husband filed the N-400 in August based on 3 years since LPR date, married to a USC.  He followed the instructions on the online form exactly, and uploaded only the required documents.  As evidence of marital union, he included IRS tax transcripts, married filing jointly, for the last 3 years, plus a small number of financial co-mingling documents such as a joint house deed and a few others.  All the other evidence filed with the I-751 (500+ pages) and more recent marital union documents collected since then he will take to the interview, because the instructions are "you may also submit copies of these documents with your application."  So it seems like it's up to you and your comfort level.  Quoting the current N-400 instructions:

7. Other Documents. Depending on the circumstances, you should bring certain documents to your interview. You may also submit copies of these documents with your application. For example: A. Spouse of a U.S. Citizen. Bring the following items to your interview if you are applying for naturalization on the basis of your marriage to a U.S. citizen: (1) Evidence that your spouse has been a U.S. citizen for at least 3 years at the time you file your Form N-400. Such evidence may include: a birth certificate (if your spouse never lost U.S. citizenship since birth), Certificate of Naturalization, Certificate of Citizenship, or Form FS-240 Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States of America; (2) Evidence of the termination of all your prior marriages; and (3) Evidence that you and your spouse have lived in marital union for at least 3 years at the time you file your Form N-400. Such evidence may include: (a) Joint bank and credit card statements; (b) Leases or mortgages; (c) Birth certificates of children; (d) Insurance policies; and (e) Internal Revenue Service (IRS)-certified copies of the income tax forms that you and your spouse filed for the past 3 years (or an IRS tax return transcript for the last 3 years).
