How long between NOA2 and Notice from NVC?

We received our Notice of Action (I-129F Petition Approved) from USCIS in early August. The notice said we would next receive instructions from the NVC (regarding K1 visa application). It's been 2 months and we still haven't heard from the NVC. Is there a delay at their end? We called, emailed and filled up their form on their website but still no response. Shouldn't we have heard from the NVC by now? Is there another number I can contact to get my case number? Has anyone else had a similar experience?

NVC response timeframes are posted on their website. I think it’s taking 2 months to hear back after submitting the public inquiry form. Just an FYI: NVC does not send a notice when they receive your petition, you have to contact them. They only send notice when your case leaves for the consulate. Also, they suspended their phone line so the public inquiry forum is the only way to contact them for your case #

Thank you, yes we looked at that timeframe on the website when we put in our inquiry. I read elsewhere that the NVC takes 60 days to process each case and assign a case number, and from there, another 2 weeks for the packet to reach the Consulate in my home country. If that's the case then I really hope we hear from them soon, because it's already been 58 days since we got our NOA2.

Sounds like that was from pre-COVID times. Timelines have significantly shifted. Hopefully your consulate is faster.

It is 60 days til receipt of case, 30 days to process and 30 days til interview in all embassies that have gone back to business as usual, so probably it takes longer for a lot people. From NOA2, you’re currently up for another 120 days until the interview - it’s insane.

(The first two parts are the NVC steps)

A lot of people are reporting delays. Us included. We got NOA2 June 27, 2022 and found out through congressional inquiry that NVC received our case September 14th, 2022. We still do not have a case number and it has been over 100 days since our NOA2.

Thank you for sharing that. Guess we will just wait for news.
