Administrative Processing after NOA2 ?

Hi all,

 

Our I-129F was approved on July 29th and it hasn’t been shipped to the embassy yet (it’s been 67 days). I contacted my Representative to check the status and get the case number. They sent me the below response: 

 

The NVC has responded to our office in regards to the K1 Visa for your fiancé. The case, ANK**********, is currently in administrative processing to determine the beneficiary's eligibility for the visa. Administrative processing is inherently not a transparent process for national security or public safety reasons and cannot be expedited; the NVC cannot estimate when the process will be complete but will notify you when it is complete. 
 

I know that visas may go under Administrative Processing after the interview, but I didn’t know this. Also, when I check my status on CEAC, it shows “AT NVC”

 

So now we are confused what’s going on. Does anyone have any information or experience about this? Thanks.

AP can occur at any point along the process.   The petition establishes eligibility to be petitioned for a visa, and the congressional response you received explained that that’s exactly what is going on here.

Yeah our case is sent to the embassy, 70 days after NOA2. This Administrative Processing might have been the standard procedure afterall.

Has anyone's visa being recently issued from Ankara? Last month we received the AP completed email but 3 weeks after passport submission, the status hasn't changed yet and we are reallyworried!
