Question about the qualifications to file I-864EZ

When I read the instruction of I-864EZ as below, I found that the item 2 is confusing. My husband is a citizen, he is filing two I-130 forms for me and my son. His salary is the only source for supporting family. We meet other qualifications to file I-864EZ except item 2. Yes, we are the only person listed on each I-130 form. Can we file two I-864EZ forms or we must file I-864 form? Thank you.

 

Who May Use Form I-864EZ?

You may use Form I-864EZ if ALL the following conditions apply: 1. You are the person who filed or is filing Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, for a relative being sponsored; 2. The relative you are sponsoring is the only person listed on Form I-130; and 3. The income you are using to qualify is based entirely on your salary or pension and is shown on one or more Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form W-2s provided by your employers or former employers.

He will need to fill out two I864EZ's, one for you and one for your son (i.e. one for each I130 which is sufficient to meet the number 2 qualification).  Some people say it is still better to use the I864 since that form is barcoded.  It is up to him.

It appears that the current version of I-864 no longer has the big barcode that stores all the information being filled out. It's just the small barcode now (like the I-864EZ) which just has information about the form and edition.
