Ideas Please, I need them, advise anything please!!!

My husband's case was completed on May 1st. The NVC schedules appointments the second week of each month. Last week they scheduled appointments for the month of august and my dear husband did not get his. I filed my husband's case on 2006, May first. You can imagine how hard it is to live far from each other and it is frustration to see that I can not do anything, only wait.

My husband lives in Ecuador.

You should contact NVC. They may send interview packet to you for him also. Your husband can also go to the Embassy and ask for the interview packet. You can email embassy and explain your situation. I am sure, they will tell you what to do.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

Hey Guys!!

Thanks for your comments!!

I have called many but many times to the NVC and they always give me the same info, "appointments are being schedule the second week of each month. The number of appointments depend on the consulate availabitilty". In other words, they give to me just general information. The people answering the phone are just customer service, they just read the info in the computer. Because I have called them like many times probably once a week, they are starting to be mean but I still keep calling them.

I called once (1 month ago) the consulate in Guayaquil, Ecuador and the person who talk to me was argentinian and she did not even know the knew procedure of the NVC. I mean that the NVC is scheduling appointments. She was pretty sure that my husband's case has to be forwarded first to the consulate and then the consulates schedule the appointment. I talked to her for about 24 minutes, she was nice, she talked to somebody else and they confirm her information. I called back to the NVC but they insisted that they are the ones scheduling appointments.

This week I called the NVC again, that was on monday. They told me that they were behind scheduling appointments (they start the process the second week and they finish it the same week). I called yesterday and they told me that the process was finished and my husband did not get his interview. I got really mad and upset and asked them if there was a way to complain, so I got a phone number for the visa center in Washington. It was worst, I called and waited in the line like 20 minutes. I explained my problem and the woman seem to not care at all about it.

In other words guys, neither the NVC or the consulate is helping and I do not know what else I can do and I am desperated.

Try emailing NVC and consulate. Sometimes, they reply better in emails than phone.

I just went to the Department of State web site and it shows that for Guayaquil you have to send them a whole bunch of documents along with the DS-230. If that is what you did, that means they schedule the interviews, not the embassy, so the argentinian lady is not correct. The NVC started making these changes this year and the embassies don't seem to give out the correct answer.

Have you called the Department of State to find out what they have to say?

I have a similar question, do we schedule the appointments for our fiances or does the embassy. Is the I129F a immigrant visa or a non immigrant visa. I scheduled an appointment however, I am not sure if it is valid. Can anyone help me. I am going through the embassy in Kingston Jamaica.

Contact the Department of State at (202) 663-1225. Dial option 1(one), then option 0(zero) to get through to an operator. If your case has already been completed, and it has been as long as you say it has, then the embassy whould have already received it. Perhaps they got your information mixed with someone elses, or maybe they sent out packet 4 to an undeliverable address. The Department of State should be able to help you out, they were able to tell me when my case was delivered to the embassy, when they started processing, and when they scheduled an interview for my wife.

Please be cordial and polite, they are nice people there. All you need as your case number and your beneficiaries name, and sometimes the date of birth of your beneficiary. In the extreme unlikely, but possible event that your cae may have been lost in transit, ask them what course of action is available to you. Best of luck to you, our prayers are with you.
