K1 - Resident or Non Resident for Tax purposes

I recently entered the US on September 30 on a K1 visa.

I have bank accounts with TD and RBC. When calling them to update my address, I was also asked if I was a resident of Canada for tax purposes.

This is where I am a bit confused. Since K1 visa holders are considered non-resident aliens in the United States until they get a green card, AND because I lived and worked in Canada most of the year, am I still a resident of Canada for tax purposes?

Any insight is appreciated.

You are now a resident of the USA as far as I know.

But aren't k-1 visa holders considered a non-resident alien in the USA unless they pass the green card/substantial presence test? Is it possible to be a non-resident in the USA and Canada at the same time?

You are a US resident, they allowed you to move and adjust. You're just not done with the adjustment yet.
