m-1's are semi auto ;)

so let's throw out some more bait and watch steven bite. what's the military got to do with porn?

I have brother who's in law enforcement and was on a SWAT team for awhile. I'll have to ask him exactly what it was, but believe me, it was fully automatic.

I'm certain during your time in the military, you saw or were exposed to some porn...that's all I'm saying. ;)

the original m-1 was a semiauto. why anyone would convert the m-1 to automatic is beyond me.

"The M1 Garand (more formally the United States Rifle, Caliber .30, M1) was the first semi-automatic rifle in the world to be generally issued to infantry. It officially replaced the Springfield M1903 rifle as the standard service rifle of the United States military in 1936, and was in turn replaced by the M14 (which was derived from the M1) in 1957."

so the military knows all about porn, eh steven? given that, you musta been in the military

I'm holding the MP-5, I'm not sure which of the other two rifles we fired off in the desert, but I can assure you it was fully automatic...I emptied an entire clip in about 3 short bursts.

Steven,

Why are you handling guns? You are becoming a scary dude, given your artistic background.

With respect to my name, what is it?

:P That was over 5 years ago...my brother (middle) has been in law enforcement for over 20 years and at that time he was part of a SWAT team. He's also an avid gun owner. I don't personally own any guns and probably never will.

...and I can't remember why I know William wasn't your actual name...I don't recall. :P

Perhaps he mean't a 'A1' - that's a variant of the M16 is it not?

Except for the MP5 on the left, those on the right look like M16's to me.

the m-16a1 is auto, yes, and the one on the far right is a m-16/ar-15

eta: can't really tell about the one in the middle, it may be a m-16 as indicated by the forward assist but my eyes aren't quite that focused this early in the morning to pick out other details

I normally don't have images loading on my computer at work when I'm internet browsing.

BTW...I also went to a shooting range when I was working on Dirty Harry game...got to fire off a couple of rounds from a 50 cal. pistol

Dirty Harry is more associated with the .44 Magnum, which is truly ginormous. (A .44 Magnum is

a longer cartridge, with more powder, than a regular .44 Special. Same idea with the .357 Magnum, which is a bigger .38 Special) The magnums can fire the smaller rounds.

The .44 Magnum is a considerably bigger round than a .45 ACP.

Despite what Dirty Harry said, it isn't the biggest or most powerfull handgun. A .480 Ruger is bigger, as well as others.

There is nothing very practical about these hand cannons in my opinion. Bigger than .40 S&W / .45 ACP, it is just more weight and fewer bullets.

i have one (.44 mag s&w 629) it's my preferred traveling gun primarily due to its ability to penetrate anything.

both the AR-15 and M-16 will have the forward assist

(unless you are thinking about the Carbon15)

selector switch, bolt carrier, and other internal parts will be different between the AR-15 & M16. Also depending on the manufacturer, there may also be a piece of metal in the lower receiver of the AR-15 that will prevent use of M-16 components.

to tell if the rifles are AR-15 or M-16 from the picture is impossible without a closer look at the left side of the lower receiver and internal components.

Nice M1 … when do we go shooting ?
