Same here ! applied for N400 as soon as I could this week, had the 48months extension on Green Card, but pursuing citizenship seems more convenient for me right now. Good luck on your process!

Good luck to you too! Hopefully this never-ending journey will end soon!

Update: 12/1 New Card Is Being Produced

I wonder if anyone knows the answer to this. I’m currently out of the country. Am I still good to use the extension letter/expired green card/MC for reentry or do I need to have that new card with me? Thanks

Yes you can travel back on 2 year GC and extension letter. Please let us know how it goes, should be nothing special.

Hello everyone!

Timeline

ROC - October 2022

N400 - October 2023.

Got scheduled for Citizenship interview on 17th January 2024. Requested to make it a combo interview.

Now waiting for the interview. Just a quick question, are we allowed to take our 16 month old with us? Or should we look for family to look after him during our interview time?

Don't do it. Reasons:

1) If the child starts crying one of you may be asked to leave the room, automatically converting your interview into stokes interview.

2) The interviewer may be annoyed with the child / generally doesn't like kids which can change their mood affecting the interview.

3) You may lose focus because of the child present and answer things incorrectly.

Thank you. Makes sense!

What's a combo interview? Is that necessary once the N400 interview is scheduled? I thought the interviewer would cancel out the I751 if Citizenship interview is successful.
