Yup Just a peek and the Dr I had told me a funny story. He once had an applicant that looked female but when he checked she was male!!! LOL Told me he got a really nasty shock. So just goes to show you never can tell. ;)

See there seems to be some inconsistency here. I here of guys and gals having their bits inspected on these forums. When i had my medical in London, nothing under my underwear was tampered with or discussed, id even put on my form that I had had an inguinal hernia repair and he didn't even check me for hernias. Nor were any of the other people I spoke to who had their medicals at the same time. Wonder if we have any pervy docs who use this as an excuse to "have a peek"!!

I didn t have a gyn exam, blood tests, chest X ray...

They asked me question about my medical history, tood my weight.....

Also checked my eyes...

I hate going to the doctor and was pretty stressed about the medical exam....

Nothing to worry about.

I was feeling much better when it was over...

May be the guys would care to comment on that one but as far as the ladies go definately no gyn exam or tampering beneath the clothes, just a quick look that took a few seconds dr doesnt even touch you.

I do not mean to scare anyone either but im female and when I had my medical done in London I was given a check in all the places. I did write a piece about it when I got back from the medical. The Male doctor did check my private bits, I know the doctor's have changed since then so maybe they have different proceedures in place.

See thats what I don't understand about some of these doctors reasons for checking out people bits, what difference does it make if you are circumcised or not? Would I have not been let in the country cos im not? Next there will be size requirements!!!!!

The original question was for applicants going thru London. The medical provider in London has changed THREE times in the last 14 months.

Dr. Phelan's office, who provided services for years up until (I believe) Feb 2005 never did a 'deep check' of private parts.

When Nuffield clinics began doing exams in March there were three different offices in the UK doing exams, and there seemed to be broad inconsistencies in the exams provided by them. I know my husband was given a good look and touch by a female doctor which neither he nor I had a problem with. But I do know that some people got examed and some didn't which I thought was very odd.

Since Knightsbridge started doing exams at their single location I have not noticed a pattern, but they don't seem to be doing a very invasive check.

The doctors are supposed to check for communicable disease. In all honesty I don't know how they can do this WITHOUT more than SOME sort of a physical examination. There is also blood work performed for HIV and AIDS.

I had never thought of them needing to check and make sure you are what you say you are - I guess that's well within the realm of possibility these days!

I guess I don't see what all the fuss is about. But then again I have given birth. After that, you pretty much have no modesty left and don't really care who sees what........

When I had my medical it was a female doctor. She was very nice a very swift!

She measured my height and weighed me, then took my blood pressure and examined my breasts (i'm 34) then she asked me to lay down, lift my legs straight up in the air twice, then she put her hand in my underwear and (for want of a better word) cupped me! She asked me if I'd been circumcised and I said no I'm female, but she explained females could be too. She did my blood test and that was it. In all, I was actually examined for about 5 minutes tops. The thing that took the longest was her writing up her notes as she was asking me questions.

I read somewhere that if it's a male doctor, a female nurse MUST be present.

Hope this helps :)

geoff also had his 'bits' checked by a male doctor!! he was given the 'cough' (hernia) check which lasted all of 10 seconds.

unfortunately she may not know until she actually is in the middle of her medical exam. you may want to discuss this now if this is a major consideration with the continuation of your petition for her visa.

wow this thread sure kicked up a storm....

Love hurts

When you live an ocean away

When you change your sleep schedule to catch a few more moments

When you really need to be held and you have to imagine whilst your partner describes it

When you constantly refresh the USCIS website to see if you're getting any closer

Love Loves

When it repays you with the love of your life

When God finally answered your biggest prayer

When you can live life again in the real world but still have that eternal connection

When you wake up for to the beginning of the rest of your life with the person you fought so hard for

When you love somebody that much

You'll do anything
